Pears are delicious as a dessert fruit and can also be made into the very delicious old drink, Perry. It's wonderful after dinner with your dessert or just for a refreshing cooler on a hot afternoon - sweet and fragrant with the characteristic flavour of pears.
We primarily use three varieties of pears to make Perry: Rock, Hendre Huffcap and Teddington's Green. Fruit is harvested in late September and fermented until Christmas, when it's racked off and then matured in bottles like champagne to make a delicious sparkling Perry.
